Using Exercise Home Gyms – The Importance of Warming Up
Using exercise home gyms is a convenient way of getting in shape. When you use the home gym exercise equipment, it’s temping to just jump right into the workout without warming up properly. However, when using an exercise machine and immediately using your maximum load, this can increase the risk of injury as well as lower your performance.
Before exercising on a home gym machine, a warm-up is necessary. Some of the benefits of warming up before working out are:
• Increase the “readiness” of your muscles – when warming up, your muscles will generally be able to lift more weight during an exercise compared to a “cold” muscle
• Reduction in risk of injury during exercise
• Psychologically increase your enthusiasm to exercise, which can lead to a more effective and enjoyable workout.
To warm-up with a home gym, it is best to perform a general exercise such as a light run on the treadmill or another aerobic machine to slowly get the heart rate up and pump blood to your muscles. Also, performing an exercise with a light weight and gradually increasing it to the normal weight that you use can serve as a warm-up as well.
