Total Gym XL Recall
As a preventative measure, Total Gym Fitness LLC had issued a voluntary recall about 3,100 Total Gym XL models sold through infomercials between the dates of January to February 2002.
The problem of the XL Total Gym comes from a lever pin which supports the elevated railing of the glideboard. The user could fall if this pin failed on the totalgym. The Total Gym works with a glideboard traveling along an inclined track. The track is a double rail system that connects to a support column, and the level of inclination of the Total Gym is adjusted by the user. The glideboard slides on the rails as the user lies on the home exercise machine and with the help of a pulley system, pulls the glideboard from the bottom of the rails towards the support column utilizing their bodyweight as resistance.
The recall of the total gym only applies to the XL model as described above. Later revisions of the XL model of the total gym functions perfectly.
