Total Gym 3000 and 2000: Is It Worth The Money?

The total gym 3000 and total gym 2000 are among of the higher end models of the total gym. They are priced around $900-1000, which is about 3-4 times more than the total gym 1000 and the total gym 1500. Given this huge price difference, are the 2000 and 3000 models of the total gym worth the money?

The main differences of these total gyms are mainly the construction, and the additional squat stand. The steel tubing of the 2000 and 3000 models are a bit thicker, thus potentially more durable. However, the maximum supported weight is 300lbs, compared to 250lbs with the total gym 1000 and 1500 models. The thicker frame does not significantly support a larger individual. The glideboard is larger and the foam padding is thicker on the higher end total gym, but working out for a short period of time, you probably won’t feel much of a different when using the total gym 1000 or the 1500. There is also an additional squat stand on the higher models, but if you really wanted to do squats, you can perform bodyweight squats (which provide more resistance than the total gym).

The construction quality and the squat platform on the 2000 and 3000 versions of total gym do not justify the price. The best value when considering a total gym machine would be go to with the 1000 or 1500 models, as they deliver the same results at a lower cost.
