Total Gym 2000: Is it worth it?

The popular Total Gym promoted in infomercials by Chuck Norris is an excellent machine for a time efficient, total body resistance training and cardiovascular workout. The Total Gym 2000 is not the total gym Chuck Norris uses in the infomercials (which is the Total Gym XL). With all the different models, is the 2000 series worth the addition cost?

At an estimated price of $900, the totalgym 2000 model is much more expensive than the Total Gym 1700 ($399) with similar features.

Although it features a larger bench and sturdier construction, it does not come with the Pilates kit.

The total gym home exercise machines are designed for people who do not want to bulk and want a low impact total body workout machine to tone up and trim down.

The (lack of) additional features do not justify the addition cost of the 2000 model compared to the Total Gym 1700.

If you’re considering a Total Gym, do yourself a favor and save some money with the Total Gym 1700.
