The Power Cage: Serious Exercise Equipment For Serious Weight Lifters
The power cage (also known as a power rack) is a necessary piece of exercise equipment for your home gym if you want to build incredible strength. With the power rack, you can perform dozens for free weight exercises, and unlike a squat rack, the powercage does not limit you to only squats.
They are constructed with a metal frame and safety pins to support a heavy barbell. It’s designed to handle a lot of weight, so if you’re planning on squatting over 400lbs or bench pressing over 300lbs, a power rack can safely handle the load.
Some powerracks allow you to perform chin ups or dips. This may come included with the rack, or it may be an optional attachment.
