Power Racks

For the serious weight lifters out there, power racks are an essential tool and often the centerpiece of a serious home gym. Also known as a power cage, a power rack consist of a metal frame that’s designed for the user to safely perform extremely heavy barbell exercises such as squats, box squats, dead lifts, and bench presses. Additionally, with the feature of safety pins, many power lifters often use this rack for partial rep exercise to stimulate further strength development in their muscles.

This rack is generally preferred over a squat rack simply because of the variety of exercise you can perform. A rack designed for squats are designed for one exercise only: the squat! However, with a power cage you get more bangs for your buck because you can perform literally hundreds of exercises.

Overall, if you’re deciding on a power cage or a squatting rack, choose the power cage simply because of the variety of exercise that can be performed.
