Olympic Weight Bench: Heavy Duty Bench for Serious Weight Lifting

For someone who’s primary goal for working out is strength, power, and lifting as much weight as possible (for example, a power lifter), you need the best exercise equipment that’s able to tolerate the loads that you handle. If you bench press well over 300lbs, you probably know that a skimpy York weight lifting bench that you can buy from Wal-Mart is not going to cut it. An Olympic weight bench, however, will be able to resist hundreds of pounds of weights.

When shopping for a sturdy bench, be sure to look at its specifications. Just because it’s an Olympic bench doesn’t necessarily mean that it can support up to 1000lbs. Normally you can find the maximum weight tolerance that a bench can handle from the fitness equipment manufacturer’s website, or on the product description page on the online exercise equipment store.

Also, if you’re looking at an Olympic weight set, make sure that the Olympic bar itself can handle the maximum weight you plan to use.
