Exercises You Can Do at Home to Strengthen Your Lower Back

Exercises you can do at home to strengthen your lower-back doesn’t necessary require any exercise equipment at all. Home exercise equipment can be used, but you can perform two exercises at home without workout equipment that will strengthen your lower-back muscles.

Exercise 1: Alternating Supermans

To start this exercise, lie facedown, arms extended overhead, and palms on floor. During the workout, simultaneously raise your right arm and left leg as high as comfortably possible. Hold for 10 seconds and slowly return to start. Repeat with left arm and right leg, alternating 10 times.

Exercise 2: Back Extension

During this exercise, lie facedown on the floor, arms at your side and place heels under a couch or another heavy object. Slowly raise chest off the floor as high as you comfortably can. Hold for 2 seconds and return to start.

In sum, you don’t need to leave your house and use the health club or purchase any home workout equipment for lower-back exercises. You can strengthen your back by performing these exercises at home
