The resistance rod on the weider cross bow is just like a bow of a bow-and-arrow. As you bend the rods on the crossbow home gym, you will feel resistance. Applying this resistance to an exercise will workout your muscles just like lifting weights; however, unlike a weight stack or free weights, the more you bend the rod on weider’s cross bow, the more tension will be produced. This is good on some exercises where you’re stronger at the end of the lift (such as the bench press), but on other exercise (like a row), you’re actually weaker. Using the weider cross bow will feel a lot different compared to traditional weights, although it will get the job done.

Additionally, with the constant bending of the rods on weider’s cross bow gym, there is more wear-and-tear on the equipment, and the resistance on the crossbow can become lower over time. Although the bows are very strong on the weider home gym, the constant bending will wear it down, so you may need to purchase replacement cross bow resistance rods. This is not a concern with traditional home gyms.

Overall, weider’s crossbow home gym is will get the job done, however, the resistance rods on the cross bow are subject to more wear-and-tear unlike weight stack or plate loaded gyms.
