Calf Muscle Exercise Home Machines

Calf muscle exercise home machines can be performed on a standing calf raise machine or seated calf raise machine. Doing home exercise for your calf muscles with these machines an effective way of building your lower legs.

Standing Calf Raise Machine

When using the standing calf raise machine, be sure to keep your back straight and your shoulders under the pad of the yoke. Your toes and balls of your feet should be on the toe block so you can freely lower your heel to get a full range of motion during the exercise. You can also perform this calf exercise on a smith machine.

Seated Calf Raises

The soleus is the prime mover in this exercise. While sitting on the machine, the restraint pads should be resting tightly across the lower portions of your thighs. Your toes and balls of your feet are placed on the foot bar allowing you to perform a full range of motion.
