Cable Home Gyms
Cable home gyms are unique in a sense that they are exercise machines, but provide similar benefits when compared to training with free weights. Using home gym cable systems allow you to train in multiple planes of motion (similar to that of free weights), while having the safety of working out on a home gym machine.
Typical home gym machines guides the user throughout the exercise on a fixed path. For example, the smith machine has a bar attached to a supportive rack system. The bar only moves up and down on the guide rods of the rack. This is less effective to workout your muscles compared to free weights because you’re not forced to stabilize the bar.
Using a cable based home gym system (such as the Body Solid Cable Action home gym, Life Fitness G5 Cable Motion Gym or Parabody 777 Cable Motion Gym) effectively simulates working out with free weights, and provides you with similar results.
